Set of approximately 13 punis - 1 oz (~30 g) total
1 oz makes ~150 yds of 2-ply yarn with 22 WPI (light fingering)

100% GOTS certified Pima cotton

Punis are my favorite way to spin cotton! This preparation is perfect for spinning woolen, fluffy yarn and is easier than spinning cotton sliver. The cotton is GOTS certified, non-GMO, and fair-trade imported from Peru. This cotton is also combed, meaning all the short fibers have been removed to create an end product with less neps. It’s hard to find Pima with this many great qualities! I have hand-blended and hand-dyed all fibers in small batches. Although I have done my best to rinse out all dye, some colors may bleed (especially the darker colors) when setting the ply.

These 100% cotton punis are an alternative to our milkweed version for those who want a classic spinning experience.

About this colorway - Panther Chameleon
Panther Chameleon was inspired by the bold, in-your-face colors that this species exhibits.

15% of proceeds from this listing will be donated to Las Gralarias Foundation which raises funds for Reserva Las Gralarias in Mindo, Ecuador. The goal of the reserve is to protect land at varying altitudes of cloud forest habitat that would otherwise be used for agricultural purposes. I was fortunate enough to intern at the reserve for a month in 2011 and am confident that funds will be put towards much needed conservation efforts. The reserve has an abundance of amphibians, which is why all the colorways with 15% of proceeds going to Las Gralarias are reptile and amphibian inspired. We have made our best attempt to color correct the product photos to accurately represent the colors.
