The Rambouillet flock used to create these batts is sourced from Nelson, WI and is next to the skin soft. I visited the farm on shearing day to pick out the softest, cleanest fleeces that I skirted before sending to a local mill to ensure no harsh chemicals were used that alter the structure of the wool. Because of this breed’s crimp structure and because only soap was used to wash the wool (not an acid bath) there is some VM in this wool that will fall out during spinning.

The brown Icelandic fleece is from "Lennon" who lives in Lodi, WI on a small family farm. This fleece has been hand-processed and blended by Buchanan Fiber and uses the soft undercoat with only a portion of the outercoat remaining when creating the batts.

Our Mulberry silk is A1 grade and carefully hand-dyed to ensure the silk does not become damaged or lose its luster throughout the process. With 10% silk in each batt, it adds vibrant bursts of color into any fiber art project! I've found these batts prefer to be spun into a chunky or art yarn with a medium amount of texture.

These batts are soft, but could be considered a little scratchy for sensitive individuals.
