2 oz of hand-dyed, soft roving! The sheep used to create this roving rotationally graze on many acres in a valley in western Wisconsin. After shearing day, our wool is minimally processed into bouncy, perfect for spinning roving at Ewetopia Mill in Viroqua, WI.

I then hand-dye the roving in small batches to ensure even, repeatable color distribution between braids. The roving is then double checked to make sure no felting occurred during the dye process, so you have an excellent spinning experience!

There is some VM in this roving, as the sheep are uncoated, but most pieces fall out during spinning.

About this colorway - Hawk Moth
This colorway was inspired by the 5 Spotted Hawk Moth, a large species with many rich colors of greys and browns. It was difficult to capture all the colors without the entire braid being too dark, but I think this is perfect for pairing with a contrasting light color.

A supporter of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, they are a science-based organization that works with a diverse set of partners to further their key program areas. These areas include pollination conservation, endangered species conservation, and reducing pesticide use and its impacts. Learn more!

Hand wash in cool water for best results. Some color bleeding may occur even though the roving has been rinsed.
